Workshop on Global Development 7

The COVID-19 pandemic is a "Public Health Emergency of International Concern", and challenges such as weak public health infrastructure, imperfect health systems and health equity in low - and middle-income countries remain formidable. A new public health order is crucial to Africa's more effective response to COVID-19 and other infectious diseases, as the continent continues to have the world's worst disease burden from emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases. From the perspective of global health security, the workshop will introduce the history of China-Africa cooperation in the field of public health (including the response to COVID-19), evaluate the blueprint for establishing a new public health order in Africa proposed by the African Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and discuss the prospects for strengthening China-Africa cooperation in the field of public health.
