On September 19, 2021, the Inauguration Ceremony of NSD and ISSCAD’s Chengze Garden Campus was held, marking a new start of the Institutes on their way of pursuing the secret of country development and prosperity.

ISSCAD's first 26 postgraduates read out a thank-you letter to Xi at their commencement in July, thanking China for offering them the opportunity to learn Chinese experiences in the reform and opening-up. In a reply last Wednesday to their letter, Xi said he was delighted that the students had benefited as the first graduates of the institute.
President Xi gave speech at Dialogue of Emerging Market and Developing Countries to announce that“China will enhance development experience-sharing and capacity-building cooperation with other countries through platforms such as the Institute of South-South Cooperation and Development. We will provide other developing countries with 40,000 training opportunities in China in the coming year.”

On September 9, 2016 Opening Ceremony of Institute of South-South Cooperation and Development (ISSCAD) was held at Langrun Garden of National School of Development at Peking University where we received the first batch of students.
On April 29, 2016, the Institute of South-South Cooperation and Development (ISSCAD) was officially launched at the National School of Development at Peking University. The new institution aims to strengthen cooperation and promote growth by sharing knowledge and experience among developing countries.
